Hopefully someone can answer my probably stupid question.

I am currently temping through a well know recuritment agency, but my pay actually comes from an umbrella company.

I'm not an employee of the company where I work and even though I submit my timesheets to the recruitment agency I don't get paid by them.

I want to apply for a new credit card and am very confused as to who I put down as my employer.

I would say the recruitment agency..?

Like duckandcover says, it's the umbrella company as they act as your employer. They do all your wages etc and when you leave your P45 will come from them.
