Argh! Manpower!

What is their game?? They flood the jobsites everyday with the SAME ROLES that they have been advertising for ages, yet they don't respond when you send them a tailored C.V. which is specific to the role. What is their game? Do they just collect C.V.s to create a massive database???

I wish you could filter their !!!!!!!! out of job searches.

make sure your name is somthing like Adam Abbotts, so when you in the CV bank they ring you first :D
  • I was about to suggest calling the consultants directly instead of applying online, but after looking on their website it doesn't seem like this is an option! They have a branch locator though where you can call your local office - maybe you can get through to a consultant that way? It would be a good way of making sure they know who you are and that you stand out as I imagine they must get so many CV's in!

I have noticed the same thing with Manpower too, also their email alerts are never relevant!

There are a number of roles which have been advertised for months, if they are actually still available I would question if it's any good!

I have tried contacting the agency after applying on line for a role and it was a waste of time, they had no clue what the job was even with the job ref number!

Ever thought of going into the branch and making an appointment or is that too much like hard work?

Would not touch this company with a great big barge pole, I had several interviews for a placement, offered the job, had to have a CRB check, 5 of us to start, they never started anyone after changing the dates several times, asking us not to actively seek other work, I made several calls sent emails and no one gave a damn

    Who was that aimed at???????

Contacting the branch means phoning them, I don't think that actually going into the branch would have made them know anymore about the role which they knew nothing about when I called!

Quite simply because IME going in puts them on the spot and they have to deal with you face to face which makes you harder to fob off than it does over the phone and email.

Every agency job I've had I have called in to the offices. Every one I've applied for by email has got zero response and most enquiries by phone no returned call.

They actually called me this morning for an assessment !! But they are saying the role they have now is temporary even though it was advertised as permanent  I'll still go in for it due to lack of other leads but this lot seem like cowboys to me.

The ones that you go to must work in a completely different way then, they are always 'too busy' when you just pop in and tell you to make an appointment to come back or phone them in a week, or they fob you off with there is nothing at the moment without even looking at anything or asking who you are (you cannot tell me that they can possibly remember who everyone is).

Agencies do that a lot, advertise as one thing and it turns out to be something else.

Manpower are one of the better agencies.
