Oh crap! I have an interview tomorrow
wannabehermit
But I have no 'interview clothes' and no-one to look after DD while I'm there.
Oh crap!!!
So clothes can be dealt with with a trip to Tesco or Asda this evening when DH gets home, but DD is a much bigger problem.
My parents are on holiday.
I have no siblings.
I have no friends.
We don't use a babysitter in the evenings that I could call on.
!!!!!! do I do?

Could your hubby re-arrange his work somehow (flexi time?) or explain the circumstances to his boss to have an hour or so off & make it up later so you could go?
How old is your DD? does she have a playmate whos mum you could ask then you could return the favour at a later date? many of the mums at my sons playschool/ school did/do this. I know it's not ideal but sometimes needs be!. Or a neighbour that she/you would feel comfortable with? if you was mine I'd do it for you!:)
I've been in similar situations myself I know how hard it is.
P.s If you really have no luck as a last resort what about explaining the situation to the employer (I know it's not perfect)but they may suggest then an interview later in the day/night when your hubby is back, a weekend interview or a telephone interview!.
Good Luck hun!0 -

DHs work are not exactly flexible. For whatever reason his face doesn't fit there (worked for the company for 7 years, transferred to this branch 6 months ago, desperately looking for a transfer out). They happily do favours for everyone else, but not for him.
DD is 9 months, we don't go to any baby groups so I don't know anyone that way. I speak to a few people round at the school who I would be happy to call upon but only one doesn't work, I've called her but she never answers her phone and so far I've not had a text back. As she always texts back immediately I'm guessing she's avoiding the question.
I hadn't thought of neighbours, but thinking about it the ones that I would be happy to ask all work during the day.
DHs family don't live near us and all the friends that I have who would be able to do it don't live anywhere near us either.
I'm racking my brains trying to think of anyone round at the school and there's no-one I can think of.Clean credit file:12 mthsCar loan: FREE! :jTHE PLAN: 1.Pay off debt £8808.42(£3254.45, £1570.32, £2698.33, £0:dance:, £1000, £285.32) 2.Save monthly for Christmas/insurance etc £150 per month 3.Save for emergencies /£1500 4.Save for our B&B £????depends which one takes our fancy

Not really a good selling point to admit that you have problems with childcare before you even get to the interview!
OP, can whoever will be doing the childcare if you get this job be able to help? After all, it'll be new business for them if you're successful.0 -
Ring every childminder in the locality who is registered and ask for short term emergency care!
Loads do this
good luck! Don't mention childcare issues to your prospective employer, they don't want to know !:cool:0 -

I do feel for you hun!.:(Wonder if it may be worth a ring round the local childminders/creche or nurseries to see if anyone would be happy with doing a one off? I know you will have to pay but it could be worth it. Do any of your neighbours have responsible older student sons/daughters that could do it round studies for a bit of one off pocket money. What area do you live in? maybe someone else reading who lives in the same area could throw up a few suggestions?
(P.s To the posters above, I didn't say it was ideal to mention that to the Employer but it was a VERY last resort !Op may be lucky and have a parent manager who is understanding but I also know she may not too!)0 -

I did think of that but dismissed it straight away, I will try that route. There are a few nurseries around that I was considering using when I found a job, 2 of those would be en-route to the job so I will give them both a call.Clean credit file:12 mthsCar loan: FREE!

Unfortunately not. All the children are adults and have moved out. There's a local website with childminder details so I'm going to work my way down the list and try the 2 nurseries that I would use if I get this job.Clean credit file:12 mthsCar loan: FREE!
