Flea Treatment Question

135 Posts
Hi there.
We've recently adopted a retired greyhound and discussed flea treatments when we took him to our vet for a checkup. He suggested that, as we don't have any cats and that the season was coming to an end (apart from the mini October heatwave!) we probably wouldn't need to bother and could maybe treat him as and when he got them.
I'm not sure whether to go down this route. I'm one of those people who will get bitten by anything so it's me that would have to put up with the itchy ankles if he brought them home. Plus, I know we'd then have to sort the whole house out as well as getting him treated with one of the frontline type applications.
Anyone got any advice? I don't want to pump him full of chemicals unnecessarily but the thought of an infestation fills me with dread...
