Assisted !!!!! neutering scotland

I was wondering if there's any help out the for me. My !!!!! is due to be spayed and it's costing more than £200! I dont get housing benefit but do get child/ working tax credits. I live in Lanarkshire Scotland. I know as a dog owner it's my responsibility. I just wondered if there's any help for me. Thanks.

Not sure about Scotland, but in England, you certainly wouldn't qualify for any assistance with spaying costs on the income provided by working and tax credits on top.

Perhaps there is a breed rescue that could advise you?

Actually, Working Tax Credit is one of the qualifying benefits for the Dogs Trust assisted neutering scheme, however it isn't currently running in Scotland.

I do apologise! Last time I was looking for dog neutering details, this wasn't available - but the RSPCA, PDSA, etc, all said anything other than Income Support/Housing Benefit meant you could afford it.

I have learned something I didn't know and I am sorry I gave poor, inaccurate information.

Not sure re. the benefits situation. This may be a pretty obvious question so I apologise but was just wondering if you have had quotes from different vets. When we were getting our first boy neutered we were quoted over 230 from our vets. I then phoned another few vets in our area and the prices ranged between 90-150. The cheaper one was a highly recommended vet so we changed practice. Good Luck.
