Bloody Sony - FRENCH call centre

So I bought a Vaio laptop in the USA a couple of years ago.
If I want service I have to call a premium rate phone number, ok not so bad. But then I booked a collection but then they sent me an email to say that they hadn't arranged it and I could email or call them to do so.
So I call them on the number in the email but it's in French, so I try the email, but the email address bounces.
I call back it's in French I understand very little but try to type in my case number, get through to the agent who speaks French to me. I speak English to her and she says in French that she doesn't speak English. She then continues to speak to me in which I say several times 'je ne comprend pas' but eventually I think she manages to get me to give her my 15 digit serial number (in French) and I think she says she will get someone who speaks French to call me back.
So here I am wondering if I am going to get a call back or if I should take the kids to the park.....

Have you tried this number: 08702 402 408If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
