I think it will be bad for MoneySavers though, who are generally prepared to stock up when things are BOGOF/B1G2F, as Tescos are scrapping that and doing more "round pound", e.g. £1/£2/£3/£4/£5 offers instead, which help people who don't want to stock up.

Plus, you have to remember although they say they're "investing" £500m in price cuts, this is pocket change for a company that made £61bn revenue last year - equivalent to less than 1% off their prices across the board, minus the 1% loss of clubcard points, means shoppers would, in general, be paying slightly higher prices overall.
