Blocked bath

The water in my bath is going down very, very slowly. I've tried bicarb of soda, vinegar and boiling water and we've poked it with some wire. Any more suggestions?
Thanks

We had this it gets clogged up with hair, take your panel off and under the plug area will be a trap undo it and it will probably be full of hair, remove and put back on0

Make a hook out of a coat hanger and pull the hair up through the plug hole. Works wonders for my bath!!

We have had this problems also.
Providing you haven't gotsomething solid stuck down the waste pipe you can get a sink and plug unblocker liquid. I think it effectively disolves anything such as hair, grease etc. that lodges in your waste pipe.
Asda were selling the Mr Muscles variant recently in packs with 100% free recently. This has always worked for us. Just pour it in and leave overnight.
One word of caution - pour it in slowly so that it doesn't overflow from the plug onto the surrounding bath surface. It can effect some enamels and gold coloured/chrome plug fittings.0 -
I use Caustic Soda, available from B&Q and (more cheaply) from Wilkos. Take particular care because this is strong stuff; read the label and follow the instructions . Usually requires two treatments to get a good flow.0

I used Cillit Bang plug and drain unblocker. Worked a treat but discoloured the plughole - but to be fair it warned of that on the bottle. I just wanted it unblocked.0

It is indeed powerful stuff and not very environmentally friendly.
Personally I would try the bent coat hanger wire first and if that fails open up and clean the trap. Both are free and don’t take much time, although it is an unpleasant job.
Only use relatively expensive and environmentally unsound chemicals as a last resort.0 -
there is some heavy duty drain cleaner called "ONE SHOT" ( available in B&Q but not cheap)
if nothing else clears the blockage this stuff almost certainly will, be warned this is seriously acidic gear, you will need to make sure none of it is split. also, with all of these liquids do not mix them, always flush thoroughly between doses.Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

Hi
We had the same problem about a month ago, tried the various chemical methods. Then decided to go completely old fashioned. Bought a plunger and used that and it worked brilliantly, it does draw everything into the bath, so be prepared for the smell and mess, most of it goes back done the plughole anyway - but this time broken up so it does not get stuck again. Clean the bath out afterwards with some bathroom cleaner and you are done.0 -
Chemicals damage seals, dismantle and remove debris. To be happy you need to make someone happy.0

Thanks for all of your suggestions. Well after three goes of bicarb of soda, vinegar and boiling water and three goes of soda crsytals and boiling water and lots of plunging...out plopped my youngest DD's action man missile! So the problems is now solved and my pipes are lovely and clean! :T0
