Best bank for a charity account?

I need to set up an account for the water rates and ad hoc expenses for our allotment site, and gather it will need more than one co-signatory. Does anyone have any experience of charity accounts? Should I just pick a High Street bank? What kind of documents am I likely to need to open it?

Hello G-E, SNAP, I just posted a very similar enquiry on here today. I have spent ages searching the web looking for advice but so far if the Banks do have Charity accounts they seem to keep them well hidden. The Woolwich have now said that the 'Beavers Group' account with them will be charged £10 per cheques drawn as it is a passbook only account and they wont upgrade it to a cheque account. My guess is it is too small and not enough funds go into it, so they not making anything out of it. I thought about using the Post Office but they don't offer current accounts anymore either. If you get any answers I would be pleased to hear about them and likewise if I hear anything I will let you know. Good Luck
By the way I use a website called https://www.allotment.org.uk for gardening tips, and they might be able to help you as a fellow allotment person.0 -
They're known more widely as Treasurer's Accounts. Example of one here :-
