Just purchased this dishwasher - Thoughts please

I've just ordered this dishwasher from the Comet website:

http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=178373

I have the smallest kitchen but the most washing up you have ever seen in you life so I'm hoping this is going to lighten the load for me a bit.

Has anyone ever purchased this or got any thoughts about it?

My gran has one of those tabletop dishwashers(although she made me install it under her sink)

That was about 6 years ago and as far as I know she's used it about 3 times! lol

However on those occasions she had no trouble with it.

We have 4 kids here and loads of washing up every night, my advice is save your money and just don't let it get out of control, wash things as they are used, after each meal etc. break its back before it can get on top of you!

All advice given by thekid is in good faith but remember these important facts:
    1. I'm lucky enough to live in Scotland(Scots Law may apply)...
    2. My motto is "What's the worst that can happen" you've seen the kids in the Comic Relief clips, is it to that scale? Then get a grip!
    3. It's only money...no really(see #2)
    4. I'm only a plumber...

    hi bs.

i know how you feel about washing up. Grrr! there is only me and two kids in our household and i have got a full sized one. i only use it once daily. collect all pots and do a wash at the end of the evening. after that anything left has to be washed by hand. i could not live without mine. its great not having to wash up 3-4 times a day! had a table top similar to the one you just bought. great little thing!!

Thanks. You got your S's back djdido2.

I'm on my own with 2 children and I cook everything from scratch. I'm usually washing up and drying pots, pans and plates for a good 2 hours every night. So this will be a blessing. I'm only going to switch it on when it's full though as I'm also keeping my eye on the water meter. But I don't mind paying out a little extra to get my evenings back.

By buying a small one like this, you, at least, won't have to pay out for a lot of extra crockery/cutlery which is usually necessary in order to fill a normal one right up and make a full and economical load. Actually, it's rather smart and has made me think whether to buy one.

I hope you bought it via Quidco so as to get the additional 3.5% cashback!

If anything it might be a bit small, but if you don't have the room for a full sized one it's a good compromise. On my own with two children I can promise you that mine is indispensable. (Had it for about 12 years) Second only to a washing machine...okay maybe the fridge too.

    Thanks for the replies.

Just wanted to say thanks to the person who PM'd me about this. My boyfriend read the PM, told me all about it and then deleted it before PMing back. So I can't PM whoever it was back as I don't know who it was. If that makes sense.

  • All the dishdrawer dishwashers I know off work very well and people rave about them. Fisher & Paykel sell one of these integrated for about £700.You shouldn't have any problems.
