Help needed for friend - Bankruptcy and Student Loans

Hi Guys,
I am a student rep and I had an odd question today from a student friend which none of our student support bods seem to be able to give a straight answer.
She has just come back for 4th year but is being heavily harassed by debt collectors and has already had a visit at halls and is seriously stressed.
She has had good advice from Citizens Advice on her debt, but no one seems to be able to give a straight answer on whether she can declare bankruptcy and still draw her student loan which she is relying on to get her through. She has heard 2 different answers so far from SLC and our Student Support advisor so I am looking to see if anyone can define things a bit more here.
Any thoughts? We are in Scotland

If I had discovered MSE this time last year I may not be going down the road to BR

OK, but here is the confusion.
