paying off credit card balance with credit card

I had a credit card with a £2K balance on it. I recently opened 2 new credit cards with 0% balance transfer. I mistakenly transferred the £2k balance onto both of my new credit cards.

So now I have 2 credit cards with a £2K balance and the original credit card with a £2K credit on it.

I want to use the £2K credit to pay off one of the other cards. Is this possible as I can only see an option to pay by debit card?

It is normally a breach of Ts and Cs to put a credit card into a positive balance. the card company might return the payment anyway.

If not, the only way to use a CC to pay a CC is to do a balance transfer (which will probably cost c 3%)

Alternatively you could explain what's happened and ask if the card company could send a cheque for the balance, without charging a fee.

Your can ask the issuer to give you a credit balance refund. Most credit card providers will put the money straight back into your bank account (EG MBNA/Virgin/Egg).

The other option is to ask the other credit card provider who did the BT to recall the money from the benefiting credit card provider.

In short, just ask for a credit balance refund and explain it was an accident and they should do this for free.
