My partner is currently out of work due to illhealth, she is currently receiving diability living allowance and incapacity benefit, im a part time student. My question is are we elligible to council tax benefit and if so would they back date? as she had not worked for two years, also as a part time student should i be paying council tax?
any help would be appreciated

As a p/T student you are not disregarded for Council Tax - you need to be F/T.
CTB can usually be only backdated 52 weeks maximum . Try putting in your claim anything you get is a bonus.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
