Advice needed estimated income for SFE now we have an increase in income

I am due to start my first year at uni this september and I've had all my finance stuff sorted for a while. However, my partner has just been given a car allowance in work to the sum of 3000 per year. We thought this was great but after tax, NI, student loan deductions for my partner and the reduction in child tax its not worth very much at all especially with the running costs of the car.
My question is do I now need to inform student finance of this extra income, we have estimated the academic year 11/12's income after tax, NI, and student loan payments as £14,800 but its going to be more like £16,600. I was awarded 80% ccg and full PLA and I'm really worried that this small increase will mean I loose ccg entitlement. Would it be possible for me to tell them about the increase next year when we confirm what he actually earned. Any advice welcome.

15% or more change in income means you need to notify them, otherwise not.0
