Hi my daughter has decided to repeat her final year at school and A Level exams could I claim tax credit? I was previously getting it earlier in the year and then it stopped.
Thanks

Hi
We're in a similar position to you in that our 18 year old son didn't do as well as he'd hoped in his A'levels and is going to return to 6th form and try and improve his grades. As far as I'm aware, he will still be entitled to child benefit/tax credit if he's under the age of 19 at the start of the school year (which he will be).
You will, however, have to contact the relevant departments to notify them of a change of circumstances and tell them that your daughter is remaining in full time education (but not taking a degree).0 -
Thanks for your help everybody0
