I have just paid over £500 to a university by credit card (Halifax Clarity Reward) for an accommodation deposit.
Does anyone know how this will be treated by Halifax?
I've asked the university, but the finance team won't respond until Monday.

Purchase. Unless you went to a bank or cashpoint and withdrew it as physical cash.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Should be treated as a purchase. Same a putting a deposit on furniture etc.
Getting money out of whole in the wall, ordering travel money, and gambling sites normally treated as cash advances.0
