Cheap parking near a tube station in north london

Hi, we are hoping to drive to London for the day in a couple of weeks time. There are 5 of us and as it would cost around £450 for us to travel by train we have decided to drive down via the M1 and park in North London somewhere and tube it in. Can anyone suggest anywhere off the M1 that's relatively easy to find where we could park for the day either free or cheaply and come into central London without too much hassle? Thanks

Hi,

I usually park at either Stanmore tube station or Edgware.

Stanmore is £4.50 per day during the week and £1.50 at weekend I think. Tube takes about 30-35 minutes to central london.

There is a small shopping centre near edgware station and I used to leave the car there for a few days and pay the £6 lost ticket charge when I left - not sure how much they charge now.

Brent cross shopping centre is free and just at the bottom of the M1. Also Hendon has lots of free parking and Hendon central on the northern line into town.

I'll second Stanmore - I do it every time. Only 2mins from J4 of M1
Only £1 to park on Sundays too
