I'm new to this site but would welcome any advice if it is worth while making a claim against the Halifax for mis sold ppi I took out an unsecured loan out with the Halifax for debt consolidation in 2007 for £16,000 over 7 years. After a very long and boring conversation with the Sales person on the phone, (most of which went over my head) I agreed to take out insurance at a cost of £170.00 per month. Thinking about it now, i've always been covered by my employer for sickness and redundancy and don't think I ever needed insurance. I have filled in the FOS form but don't I want to feel daft sending if off in case I don't fit the critera for making a claim. Any help would be appreciated.

The worst thing that can happen is they reject your complaint, but all it will cost you is a stamp.
"Nothing ventured..." as they say, so good luck
If you want some inspiration, I made a complaint to a credit card provider and although my recollection of details was slightly vague, they still investigated - and decided on balance that I did have a case and offered me £1800.0
