Pension Advice for a single mother
architect
Hi all
I need some advice, my mother sixty two years old and she's been claiming her state pension for the last year or so. However she has heard that if you were a working single parent, and you've never claimed benefits, there is a chance that you can increase your pension output. Can you please let me know if this is true, and if so, how can you go about claiming this extra payment.
Thanks

Does she get a full state pension, if so then no she cannot enhance it at all.
I think someone is getting mixed up with Home responsibilities where you were given NI credits to enable mums to
claim their full pension.
Either that or if she did not work at all or did not pay enough NI stamps then she would claim against her OH's contributions but only at 60% of the full entitlement.
How much pension does she get. Is your father still in the picture.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
