I need help lol

2 adults, 2 children 15 & 9 in london for the day.

We'd like to visit Hamleys & Harrods so intend using the Tube/ buses.

Staying at Edgeware (zone 5 but hey...at least i'll get a seat )

Which is the cheapest option.....paper tickets? Travelcard? or Oystercard?

Shows difference between getting the 1 day paper travel card, and an Oyster. Whatever you do dont buy single paper tickets, they are really expensive.

Your 9 year old will travel for free (under 11s travel for free) and probably the easiest way is to buy 2 adult daily off peak Travel cards and a child Travelcard after 9.30am in the morning weekdays for off peak prices or anytime at weekends. £8 per adult for zone 1-6 TC and £3 for the 15 year old for unlimited travel on tubes and buses.

With Oyster you pay Pay £5 refundable deposit and have to load it with £5 multiples. Single off peak tube journey on the tube from zone 6 to 1 is £2.70 off peak per adult, so just to get to London and back it would cost you £5.40 per adult and then you have the £1.90 per journey in zone 1. Oyster used in 1-6 caps at £8 which is the same price as the off peak TC.
