Wisdom of third party help with appeals & representation

Having come from a managerial/professional background I feel able to carry out as much investigative, and preparation work, as will be needed but I recognise it would be advisable to get as much expert advice as possible.

So choices I read about (so far) are CAB, DIAL, AGEUK but wonder who, and when, to ask for their advice. IE before requesting an appeal or further along the process?

I have also read that statistically claimants who are represented succeed more than those who aren't. But also that Tribunals feel if the person is eloquent/articulate they would rather deal direct through that person (and say wife) than through a third party. I have also seen the odd horror story where the claimant has been poorly represented and felt they could of done better themselves.

So any help will be really good.

Give them as much time as possible (as an advisor myself there is nothing worse than someone instructing at the last minute). Doesn't necessarily have to be before you lodge the appeal but soon after is appropriate. Remember they're not just working on your case so give them some time to do their job properly.
I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!
