Applying for credit cards = bad credit rating?

I am hoping to transfer £1500 balance on Halifax credit card to a 0% card but could also be doing with a second card as most cards seem to have a credit limit of £1200. I will be moving abroad & really only need the cards for a short space of time as my expenses will be reimbursed by my employer (lucky break!). I didn't realise I should have tranferred Halifax balance when the 0% expired & didn't realise how hefty the actual interest would be - they say ignorance is bliss!. Any advice would be much appreciated.

The £1,200 is just a representative example for the purposes of demonstrating interest charges. It doesn't mean the limit is likely to be £1,200.
The limit is based on your personal circumstances with all cards and might be £250, might be £10,000. Depends how the card provider asesses your affordabilityCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
