A&L Mortgage - PPI sold to me in 2007, has anyone claimed?

Hello,

PPI was sold to me & my bf in dec 2007 when we set up our mortgage, just found out that A&L have been fined for miss selling PPI.

Before I investigate further has anyone else claimed or is trying to claim?

Thanks
WM

They may have been fined, but it doesnt mean they mis-sold you PPI. Mortgage PPI is sold differently to other PPI's.

With mortgages, advisers carry out a fact find, suitability is checked and you would have been sold a monthly PPI. If you were eligible and it was suitable, you are wasting your time.

why do you feel it was mis-sold?
  • Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

I remember the application we made over the phone and we were advised that this was the mortgage amount, which included the PPI, from what i have read, we were not given any other options.

    Thanks

Alliance and Leicester sold monthly PPI, it wasnt included in the mortgage.

If you still have your mortgage offer, have a look at section 9, the PPI is listed next to optional insurance.

What other options are you on about?

A&L only offered their own product and that is correct. If you wanted alternative options then you should have used an independent broker.

  • Thanks everyone for replying, tbh, i panicked when i read about A&L being fined so much, i will investigate further with them just to make sure.
