Cheap Hotel Rooms in Bath?

Hi guys

I'm new on here, so please excuse any faux pas. I'm booked onto a course which is being held at the Hilton in Bath in September for 5 days. Does anyone know any tips for picking up a cheap hotel room? The course has already cost about £800 and the hotels are racking up another £450+ !! I'm hoping i can jump on laterooms within the last few days, but i need to book somewhere in the meantime incase that doesn't happen!

Bath is always expensive, but there are a couple of Travelodges that you may get lucky with. I have stayed at the Bath Waterside one before and that one has parking, if that's important..

I noticed yesterday that there is a Youth Hostel in Bath (there was a link from the family and friends railcard offer which gave free membership to YHA):

You could also think about staying in Bristol or somewhere else fairly close and travelling to Bath if that was cheaper.
