London to Basingstoke - Cheapest Option

Anybody knows of the cheapest option to get Basingstoke - not really bothered about how long it takes - ( Please dont recommend walking or cycling)

If you are talking about London Waterloo - Basingstoke then I don't think splitting really helps or getting a ticket to somewhere else and stopping short.

What type of journey are you looking at? Do you have any season tickets? Any travelcard seasons, etc?

The cheapest fares will often be on the National Express coach. You often have to change at Heathrow on this.

If you want to use the train and your journeys are Off Peak then perhaps a Network Railcard could help, it will knock about a 1/3 off your journey prices, so use it a couple of times and it will have paid for itself.
