VANQUIS Credit Card Offer

VANQUIS keep sending me credit card offers, I never asked for the same.

Is there anyway to stop it?

Register for the Mail Preference Service to stop junk mail, it takes a few weeks at least to get it set up and details trickled through etc
  • They sent my son a credit application form when he was 14 and I told them to stop and they resumed again when he was 18 but they don't listen when you tell them to stop well not in our case.

Also, mark the mail "Return to Sender - Unsolicited junk mail". They then have to remove you from their list under the DPA when the returned mail reaches them.

Mail Preference Service - never heard of it. Tx for sharing.
    Just checked their website.

Not sure how it will work. Let's say I decide to get a credit card from Vanquis and I've opted out for mails from them, so does it also stop genuine mails as well?

It stops them sending marketing mail to you.

They can send you operational/ service mail (eg statements) and it is a bit of a grey area if they can include marketing materials in that either in the form of adverts on the operational mail itself or as inserts into the same envelope what they cannot do is send you pure marketing mail. Obviously some push the boundaries by creating operational mail for the purpose of being a vehicle to legitimise the marketing mail (I work with insurers more than credit card companies but you could imagine them starting to sendg a pre-warning of payment being due in addition to the statement so they can then put a nice big banner ad for PPI on the bottom of the letter)

Why would you want mail from Vanquis? I mean seriously.
