Hi everyone,
Can you recommend your favourite destination for a day out shopping (places with a really good market would be fab too).
Somewhere we can get to by train from Portsmouth. Not too far away or expensive!
Bored of always going to the same places/same suggestions...
London, Brighton, Southampton, Winchester, Chichester, and smaller nearer places.

A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

Guildford. Pleasant town with a cobbled High Street and famous clock. Two departmant stores - Debenhams and House of Frazer- a shopping centre (currently behing refurbished but many shops still open) and all the usual shops TK Max, Monsoon, Marks. Clarks, Gap and a lot of upmarket shops as well
Lots of places to eat at all price ranges if you don't want to picnic in the castle grounds.
There is a small market in North Street on Saturdays (and I think Fridays too) but it is mostly fruit and veg.0 -
You've already kinda named most of them- the only other one in addition to Guildford would be Salisbury that I can think of which is nice for shopping. Not sure about markets as I look for charity shops.
If you were prepared to make more of a day of it Bristol is great and there are direct trains from Portsmouth0 -
Two of my favs are Bristol and Bath, although they're possibly a bit far away. If you're ever considering going somewhere for a short weekend break, then definitely look into Bath. It's a lovely town.0

Thanks everyone, I shall add those to my suggestions list.
Me and my mum like going shopping, (we like a few decent charity shops too so that's cool) and occasionally we do go for an over night stay somewhere, my hubby mentioned Bath too he reckons it's very nice!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0
