Going to start a reclaim of ppi from this lot.I have had 2 loans with them 1 started in april 2005 the refinanced in 2007 and is running for about 3 more months. will they both come under the same account number for claiming or will i have to send in seperate claims.also should i do a SAR request first before doing anything else as i dont have a copy of the first loans amounts only bare details.Thanks.

Hi and welcome

A SAR is optional, as long as you have the account numbers, and know you were paying for ppi and have reasons for being mis sold, you can fire away on the reclaiming.

If the reasons are the same, then it's no harm in completing the same questionnaire, but I am sure you will still have 2 separate account numbers, so if your unable to find these, and bank online, this should allow you to go back to about 2002, the loan account numbers should be shown next to the loan montly repayment.

If its a bank and its local to you, you can call in and ask them to check the files for you under your account number (if you bank with them).

Do not worry about the amounts, you do not require to put these in and if successful they should send you a written breakdown.

Complete and send to whoever responsible, head office/complaints dept, keep copies and they normally have 8 weeks, but may ask for more time due to backlogs.
