Hubby and Children are in France and I am at home so will probably just make the most of the peace and quiet!!!

Not anticipating spending any money - trying for 3 no spend days in a row although the cat food is running low!!

Hope everyone has a happy new year, whatever you do!

I'll freely admit to being 22 years of age and not giving a fudge about new year!

I'm not a great one for pubs/clubs and all that goes with!
However I will be having a giggle with my new flatmate and her friends who are coming to stay with us before they all go out, so will do some hair, maybe someones eye liner if theyre a bit too tipsy and then will enjoy the evening with my feet up and making all my resolutions!

Then sometime after 12 I'll ring in the new year by opening the door, only got one so not sure how that tradition will work! And ring my Dad to wish him Happy New Year!

I've just finished making a curry for tomorrow night, bit of a new year tradition over the last 4 or 5 years and it's better if it's made the night before. I will probably spend on some wine (although still have a bit of booze in from christmas) and a few fireworks for the kids - have a friend and her kids over as well as OH and my 2 sons, poss my fosterdaughter and a mate too but she's undecided as yet. Hopefully a fairly cheap evening!

We're not doing anything special for new years. I'm still feeling like a total zombie so probably just going to stay in all day and try to keep warm and recover. If I do go out to get some groceries in it will just be to the nearest shop to top up on some basics.

Well, I managed a no spend day today (and actually found 10p in the street, and worked an overtime shift, 7 hours at time and a half because someone else rang in sick....). Tomorrow I'm hoping for another no spend day which means I won't spend another penny in 2006 :D and I'm going to start 2007 as I mean to go on with a no spend day on the 1st too.

I'm actually hoping someone will ring in sick to work again tomorrow and they'll call me to go in...it's double time for Sundays so if I can get a 7 hour shift that will mean in my January pay packet I'll get an extra week's wages. Good job the flu seems to be going round our office...just hope I don't catch it!

I am so pleased there are some younger than me who just aren't interest. I am 28. I did used to be the pub/club/party type, in fact I was a DJ and that was my life, got friends calling me a boring old fart for staying in but I have different priorities now. I would like to remember seeing the New Year in for one! I suppose we should start a thread tomorrow night for the staying in people :) keep each other company. Would be nice to say New Year to someone who isn't drunk, unlike those who ring me, apart from DP who will be working. I won't be touching alcohol as I have the children to look after, and it's something I just won't do when I am the only one home. Always someone stays sober (usually me) and haven't drank for over a year because I didn't fancy it so see no reason why I should just because it's New Year.
One day I might be more organised...........

Like lil_me I'm so glad to hear that there are some young things out there who aren't interested in NYE (I'm 35 and have been feeling old and dull). I won't be on the alcohol either tomorrow as I'm 8 months pregnant so I'm up for an on-line party with anyone else staying in.

Oh, and hopefully a cheap day for me tomorrow as we have plenty of food and don't NEED anything.

Hey Mrs Sparkle, is this your first child? I had my first at 34, she is nearly 12 now & nearly as tall as me with longer legs (& more sensible too!) I will be around tomorrow night, Im not an early to bed kind!

I do enjoy going out, and last year I went out and probably spent over £100 on one night. I'd love to be able to go out tomorrow and blow that kind of money again, but realistically, I realise that would pay for my car to be fixed, or pay for a month's shopping with change, and I can't justify it to myself. I'd enjoy the night, then hate myself for weeks for wasting the money.

I'll probably go out next weekend, when everywhere is a lot quieter and prices are back to normal. Wonder if there will be any cheap drinks next weekend when everyone else is staying at home skint? :D
