Thanks so much for your help soolin - i really appreciate it. For low stars I've got one for dispatch speed and one for p&p over 12 months - If I switch to 3 months there's just the one on P&P - is that what you mean?

Yes that is what I meant and that is good, you can easily take a bit of bashing on your feedback without getting near suspension.

However you might want to step up selling for a while just to knock those negs off the first page.

Crowqueen - The items in question were both 99p, and the one was an ornament wchich was wrapped very well but the customer said that two bits were missing but not in the pack so it hadn't been a case of bad packaging. - I have no idea what she was on about when she said there were bits that should have been on that weren't so for a 99p item I figured it was best to just refund?

Yes, quite - but the end result is the same, they didn't get what they want and for a lot of people that's just not a positive transaction. If you have refunded and she's negged, then it might not be possible to get her to revise.

I wouldn't do that myself but it's something that buyers have the right to comment on and they may not feel it necessarily means you were a bad seller, just that things didn't go positively. In some respects it's the most annoying kind of transaction from the seller's POV - there's nothing much to be done to revise or resolve it - but I think sometimes it's one of those things.

I have a couple of negs on my original account left and not revised when the buyer had a bad experience due to my mess-up and I can't say that in either circumstance I blame them. It's just something that happens and the best thing you can do now is leave a moderate follow-up and put it behind you. Sometimes people will look to see how you deal with problems and a good response to a neg that you feel is unreasonable but is unresolvable does more to put you in a positive light than acres and acres of "great eBayer thanks A++++" FB. At least if any of your future buyers have a problem a good response to a neg will reassure them that you don't go bonkers when someone has a problem. I'm not saying it's desirable to clock up more than one or two of these kind of negs, more that it's a chance to show you have decent customer service and reassure people in the wake of less-than-positive feedback.
