Mbna

Hi

MBNA won't reissue my new card - Letter states "The above account had been declined due to your current financial standing and/or the conduct of your MBNA CC account"

Checked my credit report \ score and it's fine, score was above average.

Any idea why they did this? Though I suspect it's to do with the fact they recently had to pay back over £5k PPI?

Thanks for your help \ input \ feedback.

At least you got your £5K back off them. Move on, plenty more credit cards out there.

Why would you want one if they are as underhanded as to rip you off for £5k anyway?

It could be that it isn't the influence of the claim, have you managed your account correctly? Have you taken out other credit in the meantime which could use up your credit allowance?

    Thanks for the replies.

Was just wondering why they did this, are they being bitter? :) Credit cards, the works of a devil, will take it as a blessing in disguise. Thanks for the advice!!

They will sometimes do this if the account has had a lot of cash withdrawals or gambling transactions or other reasons they might think you are a higher risk (such as late payments or even only ever making minimum payments) or just don't want you as a customer.
