Selling CDs?

I was wondering the best place to sell a load of CDS, huge mix of types.
Was thinking about music magpie/cex etc - Does anyone know what the min price the offer is? Is it 0 or do most get offered 20p or so?

  • I think it generally is about 20p each, but they can refuse CDs on inspection, but won't send any they refuse back.

Magpie is 30p, however they don't take everything.
Thats the best place to get rid of anything going for under £2 on amazon marketplace, above £2 try selling on the Marketplace, some cds are rare so go for good money (£10+, whereas Magpie will try and get away with paying £2.21).

As long as the CDs are not damaged, the cases are mostly undamaged, Magpie will take them.

CDs seem to have held their retail value - anything I look at getting are still selling for decent amounts, more than I can afford, lol...though that said I tend to go for mp3 downloads directly these days.

However if you haven't got the time to list individually or want a quick liquidation then the dealerships are still probably going to give you the best bang for your buck.

If you have got time to list them then it's free listing on Ebay this weekend for private sellers. So just start at the price you want for them, I believe postal charges are capped so fairly easy to do and there's also the catalogue entry so not much to do to list them either, maybe just a photo or scan of the cover needed. Then if they don't sell you can stick them on Amazon (free until the item sells), or with Music Magpie.

Thanks all, Think my mission next week will be to get them sold. Didnt realise it could be simple to put them on ebay, was thinking i would have loads to do for little return. Might try there if it is easy.
  • CeX stuff ranges from 0.1p up to £2 for CD's, all depends on the selling price of them, which depends on popularity/rarity etc.
