Where to get Ringtones that are not cons!
As the title says!!
My DD had a new phone for Christmas (plus airtime and it cost me about £4 in total!!!!) but would like some ringtones for it, the ringtones that are the music ones.
She has a Motorola V235 but I am concerned as the first phone she ever had, we had to change the number when she downloaded one tone and was being sent silly £ texts all the time, lost all her credit and they wouldn't stop. We banned her from downloading anything since and she has done so, and she is now asking me how to do it!
So where can I go? Is there a service out there that people here use that genuinely only charges you for what you ask for? I would rather get real opinions than goggle it!
Thanks!

Personally, i make my own. I use audacity, a free sound editor, and my own songs converted into mp3's on my PC.
They sound exactly how i want them to, and they completely rock. You just find the bit of the song you want the ringtone to be, fade it in, cut out the bit you don't want then resave the mp3. I then save it on my phone and set it as my tone.
Current ringtone: house of pain - jump around0 -
some bands have no-subscription, one off fees for music ring tones
also some sites offer ringtones for one off fee without subscriptions such as

good post............download the song you want, use an mp3 editor to cut the bit out that you want and then transfer it to your phone.
Can't believe people are stupid enought to pay £1.50 for ringtones these days.......You'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
You can get them FREE along with logos and screensavers from http://www.ringtones4all.com/:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Plenty of free stuff for mobiles here. http://www.mobile9.com/
To put on phone use a data cable or blue tooth. Check the forums on mobile 9 for answers. You can always get more with a kind word and a 2-by-4 than with just a kind word.0 -
Does it not come with a usb connection cable, to plug it straight into ya PC ?
If not i think you can get em from fleebay for about £4 inc p&p"God is as real as I am,” the old man said.

Ways to transfer from PC -> phone:
1. USB connection (may be specific cable for your phone)
2. Infra red (most laptops have IR on them)
3. Bluetooth transfer (may need bluetooth adaptor on PC)
3. Take memory card out of phone, plug into card reader, save on card, put back in phone.0 -

Right this will probably make me sound like a fool, but how do I know if my phone and laptop have IR? My laptop is a presario 1500 and my phone a v3?{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -
if you have a memory card, you will be best of getting a card reader. And transfering the tunes that way. Transfering MP3's via infa red will take absolutely ages."God is as real as I am,” the old man said.
