The majority of HD Ready LCD TVs sold in Europe don't do 1080p. Nothing worse about this one than most Samsung, Philips, etc

Good price in my opinion as it looks pretty good too.

Totally ignorant I'm afraid. What does this mean?
It says 'HD ready (480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p and 1080i supported)' in the specs.

    Is this a good buy?

This one is also available at http://www.misco.co.uk/productinformation/~129828~WW~/index.htm?# for £299 + whatever delivery is.

Just been looking at this telly and the reviews on AVForums are pretty positive too. Have found it cheaper on Pixmania - 297 delivered using a code on Pricerunner - with a 2 year guarantee. However the Pixmania site suggests there is no HDMI socket (and their T&C's suggest they supply European models). So - is the Pixmania site wrong? What is the guarantee offered by Misco (Can't seem to find that mentioned anywhere!).

Hope someone can help this confused moneysaver!

Just read it in more detail and done some hunting and it looks like it has a DVI input instead of HDMI, but still has D-Sub (computer-style analogue VGA) and all the other connectors the Misco (UK) version has. The other give-away is that it is a "euro import" is that the scart sockets are described as "peritel" - that's how they're known in France (apparently!).

Have just ordered it from Pixmania - fingers crossed it's as good (for the cash) as people have made out!
  • brandx, the resolutions below 720p are standard analogue signals received through your aerial and 99% of cable and sky content,720p and 1080i are high def resolutions which sky are using on some channels i:e footy, cable very little.
1080p is the best possible hi def resolution at present, but only available on hi def dvds,it will be years before it is used by the broadcasters (if ever).
so unless you are going to watch hddvds through your tv i would'nt worry about 1080p.
  • For orders at Misco there is 8% cashback available through quidco.
Their website says 2 years warranty.
