I have since read somewhere that Vanquis said they do not have the facilities to sweep balances to other cards which really annoyed me.
Really wanted to get a 0% transfer cos I owe £1500 to Vanquis.
Ask your credit card company if they could do a super balance direct to your bank account;)0 -
Thanks Percy, big difference isn't it! But I think having Vanquis for over 2 years plus other credit lines got me a decent card with Halifax and also a Fly Be, they Fly Be later offfered me a 0% balance transfer, bit like buses with me, nothing then a couple come along:T
Why not transfer the Halifax balance over to the Flybe if they have offered you 0%?0 -
Just think about the fees and how quickly you plan to pay it, ie you have just added 3% to get it off the vanquis and it will be another 3% to transfer it again (assuming 3% in both cases).
It probably still would be cheaper but sometimes it isn't (I had a situation where a tranfer to a 0% card would actually cost me more.
If it is worth doing leave a small blance on the halifax you can clear in the next 2 months (ie if you can clear £100 a month leave £200 on it) as you will pay less in interest over those 2 months than a 3% balance transfer, to be honest I am not taking massive savings but a saving.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017
