alton towers hotels

we want to stay at one of the alton towers hotels in october but i'm looking to get the healthy price down a bit. Is there any promos or avenues for getting a better deal? Think there was a sun promo in march but missed it.

do you or anyone know work for the nhs...they do a good discount if you do...
Also merlin annual passholders get very good rates (only need to buy one), we stayed for only £80 on a passholder rate.

You haven't missed the sun promo for the hotels, but you have missed the free park ticket offer. I've just booked the hotel today for October and got 50% off by calling 0871 222 6670 and quoting the sun offer. See here http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/travel/2280906/Two-free-tickets-to-Alton-Towers-Resort-with-The-Sun-newspaper.html

My mom has exactly the same problem....works fulltime at the hospital but not directly for the NHS. :(
Towers used to offer a really good discount for teachers too depending on what union you are in, but they seem to change the discount rate on a yearly basis.

Personally I would recommned staying in Splash Landings, as it has a bit more of a fun/quirky environment, whereas the AT hotel isn't anything special really.
We usually just pop over to the AT hotel for a few beers on the evening as their bar area is nice, and then back to splash landings for cocktails, pizza and arcade action :)
  • does she have a staff badge/ card , i just showed that at check in...and last 3 times wasnt even asked...go to nhsdeals.co.uk, and see offer.

    Hi,

Can I ask those of you that got the 50% off Sun deal for the hotel did you quote the SUN before you gave dates to stay or after?

I called today got the prices and said I wanted to book and use the SUN code to discount but they said it was no longer valid?

Perhaps I should have quoted the sun before I got them to check prices? I asked for 2 rooms and the tickets and they quoted me £850 for 2 nights:eek: with 4 park passes, I really cant afford that amount!

    Hi,

I quoted the dates and even got a price before I dropped 'the sun' promo code bombshell on them! The lady on the phone straight away accepted the code and re-did the price for me.....which was £120 cheaper. :)

I think they only have a select amount of room available per night so perhaps all these rooms were taken on the nights you chose??
