Full central heating cost

Hi all

We have bought a house to do up and it requires a full central heating system to replace the old warm air that is currently there. We have so far been quoted £3800 for a 3 bedroom end terrace house, with lounge and kitchen downstairs. We are waiting for the other quote to come back.

Does this sound about right?

Sounds about right for a basic boiler/system.

Yep. It's in the ballpark. Last one I did was about that.

Good evening: cost is dependent on the specification (e.g copper or plastic pipework, stripping out entire warm air system, make and model of boiler...the list goes on) and your location in the UK. Btw..last one my OH did in Greater London was over £4800.00 for a 5 rad system (asbestos involved).

Being very MSE we got him to reduce it to £3600

Get your installer to have a look at the A1 boiler voucher scheme.

It won't make a great deal of difference, but might help a little bit, the only problem is he has to buy the boiler from a certain merchant (Plumb Centre). I think you will be entitled to a £270 grant, plus £100 for the installer (he may pass this on to you if you ask nicely).
