Will defaulted payments ruin my claim?

I really feel i I have a genuine claim for ppi. Right from the start, i felt ripped off but just accepted it as the only way i would be accepted for my loan (according to the lady that called me at work after i had refused ppi on the application; and i know they all say that, but she definately did)

I did not reclaim overdraft fees when that happened, as i felt i knew the consequences and i paid the price. PPI was a ripoff for me though and i am happy i am now able to make things right.

I am partway through the claim, but it has just occured to me that the unexpected happened at one point and i defaulted on the loan, went into arrears and the loan was sold to a collection agency. I had a CCJ against me (which was boosted by some very dubious tactics)

The ppi was originally added on to the loan at the beginning, so the amount was sold on to the debt collectors including the ppi premiums. I managed to pay the amount in full eventually a few months after the CCJ, including the ppi premiums added on to the loan.

My circumstances made me unable to claim on the ppi, as the loan was in my name and it was my wife who could not work. Even if she could claim, the ppi did not pay on anything to do with pregnancy or compications of.

So, i was missold and (although through default and ccj) paid my loan earlier than the terms of it.

Will my claim stand, given the defaults and court action.

I was ripped off by dubious debt collection tactics and fees also, but i guess i will have to wait until they are investigated in the future i suppose for that one....

Hi there

You can still make a reclaim and you still pursue the bank who sold it to you, and you should mention as well that the fact that ppi was added to the balance of the debt it was also worthless to you as you were unable to use it anyway to make a claim.
