Finally got a response from MBNA`re - ppi and they have given me 21 dyas to get my NI contributions info over to them, however the date of the letter just received already kicks into the 21days by 10 days so intially I now have 11days to send via royal mail the info needed. I am self employed as a contract worked for the education services and i have been since 1998, i do have on my online HMRC self assesment but only since using the online service from around 2005 the rest was done by my accountant whos now deceased and he will have had hard copies however only ever told to keep around 5-6yrs of info (books) if i print the info off my self assesment would this be ok ?
Also i now dont earn enough now so i am exempt from NI contributions and have the certificate would this help ?
Any Help be very much appreciated as i need to get info off in next few days before a decision is made .
Thank you

I'm not an expert here but I don't see that would be a problem, although I've read this in a few posts for self employed people with their claims for mis-sale, and as far as I could gather these people concerned were contacting HMRC, however, this could take 3-4 weeks, I'd send them what you have as well as any receipt from HMRC in regards to your self assessment forms that you may have received. I don't think it's right that they can slap a 21day rule on your claim when they can't meet an 8 week rule originally on giving a final response to a claim of mis-selling, and need even longer now, because they're so snowed under, unbelievable.
I'd try that unless any of the more expert members of the forum can tell you otherwise. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -

I think this person wants to make a genuine claim on the policy as it was intended, not complain.0
