Keighley Short Trip

My other half has a days work in Keighley, we want to go along to visit the steam railway.
We will stay one night (any recommendations for a family of four?) and any advice re steam railway, where should we get/on off visit along the way.
Thanks in advance.

Steam railway only runs at weekends this time of year.

Get a day rover ticket and you can get on and off all day. Haworth is the main visitor attraction, but there are museums at Oxenhope and Ingrow West stations which are included in your ticket.

There are a couple of Premier Inns near Keighley or plenty of B&Bs in Haworth.

Thanks for that info, will try to make it down in July & catch a midweek train. Will investigate Haworth B&B's now. :)

Recently advised by a local that Keighley isnt the most glamourous place to stay (I'm sugar coating his comment...) but he did recommend staying in Skipton, a short train journey and another world away.

Hiya , i live near Keighley and work in Skipton, there's a Travelodge with an attached Toby Carvery pub which i would recommend if staying in Keighley as not directly in the centre but close enough, your a 5 minute walk to the Railway station to catch the steam railway and 10 minutes walk into town centre, if you want to go shopping, Skipton is nicer for tourist visting but 9 miles away. If you can't get in the Travelodge, there's also a Premier Inn at Crossflats with a pub attached only 2 mile out of Keighley and on a bus route with buses every 10 minutes to the Railway Station, hope this helps, Poppy xx:)
