I saw a deal on HUKD for a 4 star hotel with a 2 day Legoland Land pass, breakfast, dinner and a packed lunch for £126. Just checked the deal and it is available for Wednesday 13th July. Board type choice for you is the second from the bottom it looks like as that gives you 2ad and 1 child. It is about 30 mins drive from there to Legoland. Of course you would be tied into specific dates but you are better off to go the Wed,Thur or Friday as a lot of the schools down south break up on Friday so at the weekend it will probably be very busy. This seems to be a good deal as using the buy one get one free tickets you would pay £142.80 just for 2 days entrance i.e. £81.60 for a two day pass per adult (one would be free) and £61.20 for your child.

I had a look at the hotel's own website and they seem to do a lot of offers such as kids stay free, free dinner with weekend bookings, free room if you buy dinner and breakfast, free train tickets and Windsor Castle breaks, so may be worth giving them a call as they have a best price guarntee that states they match any other rates and take 10% extra off. There is also a train near Gerards Cross that goes into London.

You could also book just one night Legoland package if rate is expensive for other nights and your remaining nights elsewhere. The Travelodge at Langley is a recently acquired one, so should be refurbished and has free parking so maybe stay there for the remaining 3 days (it has free parking and beside a Toby Inn for meals it seems). other hotels are cheaper but by the time you pay fr parking it works out not much of a difference.

You might also want to book the Thursday night near Legoland at either the Bull or a TL and book a hotel nearer London for Friday and Saturday and do London sightseeing on the Saturday and Sunday. If you booked somewhere like Jurys Inn in Watford Junction which is about 25 miles away down the M25 it would be £57 per night for a room that sleeps 3 plus for the Fri and Sat, plus parking nearby seems to be £5 for 24 hours. It is near the train station of the same name which has a fast train that takes 15 minutes to get into London. £14.50 per adult for a 1 day travelcard to use on all buses and tubes and kids under 11 travel free or £7.20 for those aged 11-15 years for a travelcard.

    Carolanne.
We have done legoland a few times and have always stayed in the travelodge in Slough. At the moment it would be £195 for the 3 of you if you book each night individually. Breakfast would cost about £7 each for adults on top, kids are free and it is an all you can eat buffet style breakfast, ( we have even sneaked muffins out to take with us). Legoland is about 5 miles and very easy to get to. We also found a fab Tesco within walking distance of the hotel and so bought food the night before we went. If you have any tesco vouchers to redeem you can get a day pass for £13 but would have to hurry to get them in time. If not a lot of supermarkets are giving out the buy one get one free for legoland so may be worth looking, also ebay.
The last time we went we also went ice skating in Slough which was great and had a wonder around Windsor which is lovely.

Hope this helps and have a fab time.

Thank you so much for this info. We've booked into The Bull. It looks lovely and with meals included it was a fantastic deal.

    Thanks again.

  • So glad you have a nice visit Carolanne. The Bull was really a good choice for booking your stay. Good deal..

After seeing the HUKD thread, I made plans for my family to go to Legoland this Friday 1st July, booking Legoland tickets and hotel accommodation separately online. However my 5 year old boy who is 15 months into treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia unexpectedly suffered a seizure on Friday, a rare side effect of one of the chemotherapy drugs. He was on life support in intensive care at Manchester Childrens Hospital until he regained consciousness 24 hours later. Despite all, amazingly he is home with us now. So we decided to postpone any plans to travel the 250 miles to Windsor, certainly in the near future. It was a heart stopping experience and we do not feel comfortable straying too far from MCH just yet. After contacting Legoland today, how disappointed I was that the 'Manager' refused to refund the tickets despite the circumstances, stating company policy. Although they said we could use the tickets up until November, we do not know when or if we will resume plans to travel. I am shocked that a business set up for the enjoyment of children can show such a lack of compassion given the circumstances.

I would contact them by email/letter with a complaint about this, you stand far better chance of getting a better resolution to your problem you had with the "manager" Best wishes.

Just as an aside to those visiting legoland.

Something we found out on our recent trip is that all staff in the park start the day carrying plastic collectable badges which they give out to children, different colours and designs. Some have them clipped to their id tag round their necks or in their pockets but everyone has them, restaurant staff, security, cleaners etc.

The idea is that the children are encouraged to ask staff politely if they have any and the staff member might ask them to do a silly dance or something in return. Some staff will only swap one for one.

The best bit about it is that each day there are 20 gold badges with a picture of a lego brick on them. These are distributed throughout the park and if you get one of these, they are exchangable for one adult or child free entry ticket! Apparently 5 are on staff in the park generally and 15 are given to the restaurants, ice cream stalls etc.

We saw a family we knew there and they told us about it at lunchtime, they had managed to get 2 gold ones!

By the end of the day my son had collected about 17 different designs/colours but alas no gold ones!

Hope your son is soon on the mend. My mum currently undergoing treatment also.

250 miles is a long way to go with him at the moment. I hope you manage to get a refund from them. x

we went last year and stayed at the travel lodge heathrow - T4. was great. the kids loved watching the planes! spent the day we got there in windsor, found a harvester for tea, then went to legoland the day after and drove the 300miles home afterwards. a tireing 2 days, but worth it.

We went in the school holidays last year and in hindsight, as we'd had the tickets paid for via the Tesco vouchers, I wish we'd bought some q-bots as the day was wasted with all the queuing that we did, sometimes for over an hour, and tbh for rides that weren't really worth queueing all that time for!! And I hope they've solved their wasp problem by this summer - I've never known a place so plagued with the things.

    Jxx
And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end
