Legoland help!!

Hi Guys.

I really hope someone can help me out with some info on visiting Legoland.. My brain is fried with trying to find the best deal..:p

Heres our story...

We will be travelling down from Scotland so will need accommodation and entry..

THere will be 2 adults and 1 child(age 11).

We are travelling down on Wednesday 13th July and are returning home Sunday 17th July, so it will be 4 nights in hotel/b and b etc. With hopefully 2 days in Legoland.

When booking through Legoland itself it just seems very expensive and you have to tell them exactly when your going to be in the park and I've read on here you shouldn't pre book your day at the park.

Breakfast included in the price of accommodation would be a bonus.

We don't mind travelling a bit from our hotel to the park.

Any help would be very gratefully appreciated.

Have you had a look on booking.com website? they show you all the hotel avaliable in the area and prices. I always use them now, because most of the hotels you dont pay anything up front either and no deposit!

Legoland entry.
Tesco vouchers £11 in reward vouchers for an entry ticket (you need to swap your Tesco vouchers for the Legoland voucher prior to visit). Then I think you just present the vouchers to enter on the day.

One tip if you don't mind aircraft noise you could try the Heathrow hotels at the weekend Fri Sat Sun the rates drop to quite reasonable levels. Downside overnight parking at some of these hotels is extortionate so make sure you know what they will charge you for parking.

e.g Holiday Inn J4 M4 which is on the M4 junction close to Heathrow advance purchase room with breakfast(for 2) 15 or 16th £62 per night. They have a special Legoland deal for £184 per night which includes 2 day park entry for up to 2 adults and 2 children. Room plus breakfast £122 and £107 for nights of 13th and 14th. So £184+£107+£62+£62 + vat = £498 I am not sure if this would mean you have to use the tickets on specific days. Oh and £12 a night for parking even if you are staying there!

There are usually lots of 2-for-1 vouchers, for Legoland, around. I remember seeing some on a cereal packet recently - or try ebay for a 2for1 voucher. You could get tickets with your Tesco clubcard vouchers, if you have any.

Last time I was in Legoland there was a sign saying something like "Not enough time to see it all? Why not come back tomorrow for only £x per adult and £y per child". I can't remember what x and y were, but they were MUCH less than the normal entrance fee. Maybe this doesn't exist in high season, but it's worth checking out.

If you can commit to certain days try booking through the park. We recently went for 2 days with 1 nights stay at the Woking HI. For 5 of us (2 adults, 2 children & 1 baby) it cost £170 for the 2 days and 1 night. The park tickets for 2 days would usually be £260, HI was usually £106 for the night, plus £13 each for breakfast & £15 for parking, so a saving of £236. We then stayed at the Travelodge in Slough for 2 nights at the £19 a night price. I personally wouldn't recommend that, 1st and last stay at a Travelodge but there may be an alternative. I think there are etaps closeby which are good value (and cleaner & safer than TL).

Alternatively, if you really don't want to commit to specific days use Tesco vouchers and upgrade your ticket for a 2nd day while you're there, they advertise it as being £10 for an upgrade.

Be prepared though that Legoland is really aimed at the under 10s. We've been quite a few times and this was really the last time that ds1 (9) would get much out of it.
