hi all,
we a currently going through an iva and are struggling to find a new basic bank account that does direct debits, no overdraught and debit card, been turned down by HSBC and lloyds ,halifax are no go areas.
any tips please

Do you know why you have been turned down? Usually (assuming you have no record of fraud and are not bankrupt) you would only be turned down if they couldn't properly establish your identity (perhaps if you were not on the electoral roll?)A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

I applied for and was accepted for both the Barclays basic cash card account and Nationwide Flexaccount. My credit rating is awful and I just started on a DMP.0

After both Barclays and Lloyds TSB closed my accounts, I went with Natwest, have both a cheque book and debit card without any problems.0
