Just went in paper today. Been phoned and asked if i will meet a buyer half way. It will be 80 miles there for me. And 80 back. So drive up - hour and a half at least, bus back down.

Its in at £2,700 and i would be happy with £2,250 cash in my hand for it to be honest. But what if they dont want it/dont like it?

Then what? Iv wasted 160 miles worth of fuel, which aint cheap!! Thoughts?

    Forget them....

They'll drag you half way across the country and then offer peanuts for it. And because you've driven so far to get there you'll be more inclined to cut your losses and sell at that silly price.

    It's a con, probably p1key's (yes it's a bad word apparently).

That way its him thats out of pocket if he doesnt pay £2,500 after travelling all this way. Il argue its not secure to be carrying all that home on a 80 mile bus trip...banks will be shut at that time.

agree with Vax. I personally would only agree to meet a buyer a distance away like that if I was compensated and the payment was made by BACS. As you have it up at £2700 I would want atleast that, if not £2800 for the inconvenience of basically having to deliver it.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

Ok il see what he says about paying with BACS before hand or coming alot closer than that to see it. If hes wanting it he will come.

I wouldn't meet a buyer at all (unless it was like 5 miles away or something). If they are serious about spending the thick end of £3k, whats 180 miles? I did 300+ to collect my £3k car!

I wouldn't make a 160 mile round trip to sell a van. If the guy wants it bad enough let him come to you, sweeten the deal by saying you'll take £2500 for his effort.

    Just went in paper today

sit back let them come to you if they are that keen
dont show your hand at a reduction or they will try to beat you down further
if they ask, just offer to reduce a little but they need to come and view before any offers considered
