Hello....again (sorry di!)
SAR was sent (last year) to RBS..(only took 3 attempts)
Response recieved (last year) but......
The main information I needed was copies of loan agreements showing dates and ppi payments as well as any phone transcipts as many were arranged over the phone.
I've recieved copies of bank statements from 1993 (year first loan applied for) up to 2003
Helped me in a sense as I have some paperwork for loans taken since 1996 (so worth trying to claim further back?) but loans that would fall within the standard reclaim period of maybe 6-7 years is all missing.
Also had 6 years worth of cc statements
details of just 2 phone calls that were made (neither of which connected to loans arranged over the phone.)
I have phoned the bank this week asking why the info I requested is missing, in particular, why did they hold back anything that strangely falls within reclaim period advertised and was told they'd investigate and call me back which of course they haven't.
I have the template letter ready to make a claim but without loan agreement numbers and corresponding dates, I'm not sure how to proceed?
Also concerned that phone transcripts are being held back and anything else we may have signed as read. Our claim for mis-selling stems from our very first loan, account was a sole account of mine but OH would pay his wage cheque through my account as he'd never held a bank acc before (labourer and always paid cash) and I had become a SAHM without income, we didn't think a loan would go through but the girl told us our loan was more likely to be approved with the insurance....she gave us a bit of a nod as though it was inside info and like a couple of numpties, we thought she was helping.
Anything else they may have said didn't really register after that, they'd always say 'it's always best to have it', paperwork would be filled out ready and we'd sign where ever indicated. The Only question I've ever asked was to query OH being insured and not me was 'if he can't pay, won't you just chase me'. Was told I didn't need insurance, as I didn't work I wouldn't get insurance. (full time carer for child with SLD)
With parents like us, is it any wonder? :rotfl:
So...any advice on what I should do next? (other than MRI scan to check for brain!)

Hiya
Have you tried checking your bank statements, remember if you bank online, and still with the same bank now where the loan repayments were debited from, this should allow you to go back as far as 2002, the account number of the loan is generally shown next to the monthly repayment.
I would make a personal visit to your local branch.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
