Saturday 18th / Sunday 19th June 2011 What small DFW things will you this weekend????

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:
Morning All,
Hi to all new members and regular folk
Hope you don’t mind me starting the thread today – sorry I was MIA yesterday, just didn’t get round to posting. Went to see Greg Davies in Newbury with my hubby and my friend – SO FUNNY….well worth the ticket price (Although it would have been cheaper to rent the DVD when it comes out)
So I have two lists:
Yesterday I did:
• Meals from stores
• LSD (only dinner out for hubby and I, cheap parking, bus fare from hospital – it was raining heavily)
• Friend drove as cheaper than bus or train
• Read newspapers online
• Bought a lottery ticket
• Watched a couple of things on the sky box
Today I have/will do:
• Meals from stores
• Work out a food plan for the week
• Read paper online
• Checked online banking
• Need to check lottery ticket
• Need to make soup and tomato sauce for tonight’s dinner
• Do online comps
• Need to watch bits on the sky box – we are running out of room (we tend to tape things in HD)
• Will have a NSD – tight month
• Fill in my food diary
• Drink plenty of water
• Take meds to sort out hormones
• Have an early night – need to catch up on some sleep
• Need to write down some recipes for a colleague at work who is doing weight watchers
Think that is about it – I am sure there will be things I have forgotten.
Have a fabby one!

I'm going to the theatre in Glasgow, DFW style:
Taking sandwiches from stores and a flask of coffee for lunch.
Booked train tickets through East Midlands Trains even though I live in Scotland so I could get 50p cashback from Quidco. This also came with £1.50 unlimited bus ticket instead of £3 bus ticket to use at the other end. (I would walk from the station to the theatre but my partner's not well enough.)
Theatre tickets booked through a work discount getting me 25% off.
Taking two small cartoons of rose wine in a cool bag for the interval and some cheap sweeties to eat throughout the performance.
Not buying new clothes for the theatre: why buy something new to sit in the dark where no-one's looking at you?
So now I'm looking for vouchers for a very cheap dinner after the show. I have a 20% off Burger King card but I'm looking for something different...Found it: £5 per head at Pizza Hut for a pizza and unlimited salad.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

Listing items on EBay (Dh's unworn clothes to give him more space in his wardrobe)
Claim money back from Simply health.
Brush my Dogs.
LSD was going to be a Nsd but DH needed his haircut.
Continue sorting out paperwork drawer. I finally tackled the budget last weekend and found more money in it than I thought. I have now set myself a challenge of paying everything off by next Sept including my car finance and Dh's remaining credit card. I just like to see my plans down on paper as it helps me stay focused. Can I ever learn this budgeting lark? So far it's not looking promising
