Ppi

I had a visa card when I was with Giro bank & later when it was taken over by Alliance & Leicester was sold PPI insurance. Over a period of time I began to realize how much it was costing me & decided I would rather pay off the outstanding balance. When I called them they tried to talk me out of cancelling & it came to light that I could have claimed off the policy as I was off work for a year when my my Mum was terminally ill as her full time carer. I was only receiving carers allowance, so if I had been aware I could have paid my credit card through PPI would have been a weight off my mind . In recent years the card was taken over by MBNA & I made a successful claim for about £800 from MBNA. but I want to know how far back that claim went, have they only repaid me since MBNA took over , can I still claim against Alliance & Leicester,? If so I think I am owed more & the case has gone to the Ombudsman, I put in a claim last November & I am still waiting to hear. I am not very savvy with Insurance etc & have little faith in them, they all try to blind you with the jargon, i just want straight answe:(rs

Did you have terms and conditions sent to you when you took the policy out? Were you eligible (working that is) before caring for your mother?
