try plugging your speakers into an mp3 player, walkman etc to check they work ok.
On the PC what operating system are you using?
In your system tray (near the clock) do you have a speaker icon ? Is there a red symbol in the bottom corner (the symbol means the sound is muted)
Go into the Control Panel click the icon for SOUND and AUDIO DEVICES
Is the sound MUTED ?
also tick the box to "PLACE VOLUME ICON IN THE TASK BAR" this will place a little speaker in the taskbar, clicking that will then allow you to change the volume levels and mute/unmute the system.
You could also check to see if your soundcard is installed and working correctly
CONTROL PANEL / SYSTEM / HARDWARE / DEVICE MANAGER
in here are there any items with YELLOW or RED icons0 -
check that the speaker cable is plugged into the correct socket at the back of the pc, usually the green one0

Thanks guys, all ok now.
