I have got a Dell Latitdue C400 laptop which I want to sell and I need to know how much to put it up for sale for.
The specs are:

20 gb hard drive
Removable dvd rom cd/w drive
Has a network card but is nor wireless enabled

Was told to sell it for £329

You would be so lucky. You can buy a new one for £399 and less, have a Google to see what it might fetch, I would have thought £150
:confused:I have nothing better to do!!!!

You've securely wiped the hard drive beforehand haven't you?

This was bought from cash generator by a relative for £329 last week for my son as he needs it for college, they have tried to take it back as I/we think they have been ripped off, but the shop is refusing to take it back, so my uncle needs to make his money back.

  • Unfortunately, your uncle has been ripped off, it was at least £100 overpriced. PCWorld/Comet etc are selling brand new higher spec ones with XP for £299 nowadays.

Don't think you have got much comeback with the shop, unless you find out it was stolen.. You could always try to sell it back to them for £250, and buy a new one with the money.. then they can try and rip someone else off.

Still a useable and light laptop though..
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

No OS? And no wi-fi. The completed listings on eBay suggest about £100 to £120, as you have one of the faster processors.

This one went for £150 - Dell Latitude C400, Intel Pentium III m 1.2 ghz CPU, 256mb RAM, 20gb HDD,WiFi, 12.1" TFT screen, USB, Audio, External DVD, win XP pro, modem, NIC, ac adaptor, carry case, 30 day warranty.

Even though they phoned the shop and asked them for the specs, which were not correct, of the laptop and was told it was wireless ready?

Except for the wi-fi, that is the same, though the shop said 40gb hdd and that it was wi-fi ready and that he thought it was new!
Can he not take it back? he has a 30 day guarantee? Has he not been sold this on misleading information?

Perhaps you could pawn the laptop back to the shop? After all they valued it and gave you a receipt (I assume)

You would not get all your money back obviously but I'm not sure that the laptop is even worth half what you paid.

    Sorry.:wall:

Can someone explain why they will not be able to get a full refund on this?
The laptop was misdescribed by the shop and is not fit for the purpose it was bought for surely?!
