When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D

Goood morning - here we are at halfway through the week:j
I had some good news yesterday - CSA letter arrived to say the numpty ex will be giving me more money - £100 more per month to be exact:beer: Haha...he just gives what he thinks he can spare (keeping most of it for going out on the town:mad:) - I just wanted a fair amount so am very pleased:D

Off to college this morning...last ever session.

So, better get on with it....here's my list:
  • check banking
  • check onepoll
  • packed lunch for dd2
  • use my coffee loyalty card and have a free one at college
  • return library book
  • girls eating out tonight with numpty ex for his bday - saves me cooking:T
  • hope washing dries outside
  • put clean stuff + ironing away
  • hoover downstairs
Ok, that'll do me for now - have a lovely Wednesday everyone:T:T
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Yay, good news on the CSA, pixiechica :T

I'm enjoying my 2nd cuppa of the linseed tea regime ;)Perni - is actually ok...just a kinda nutty flavour :p

Big news from me is that I transferred holiday to 0% for 9 months card. :o cos we didn't save enough in the first place but also :D

Now got all debt at 0%. CC bill now £3368.62 (put an extra £1545 on it this morning) but that's about how much I cleared last year so I know it can be done again. :) Positive thinking and all that... Really depends on OH's job :( He still hasn't heard back - emailed them yesterday to ask when he is likely to find out but no reply so far :( In any case it will be minimum payments on the balance transfer card until he finds another job. :(

    Other stuff:
    • Not working a minute more than my hours at work
    • Cheapo porridge brekkie - never buy anything other than value stuff - esp don't see the point of those little individual bags
    • Checked telephone bill
    • Email not call florist woman - the saga continues...
Nothing much really - taking it easy these days.

    Happy Wednesday everyone

Morning everyone out there in DFW land, and thanks to pixie for starting us off today. Not much going on in the world of the witch at the moment so just a little list from me.

    So far I have:
    • checked banking - still waiting for WTC repayment of £18.31 to go in since January. It's cost me far more than that in phone calls
    • checked surveys
    • fed and watered chickens
    • porridge and allotment strawberries for breakfast
    • boxed up 2x half dozen eggs
    I will also:
    • make a packed lunch for work
    • get lift to and from work
    • get paid for eggs
    • do half hour walk at lunchtime
    • stitch for other half hour
    • meals from stores
    • DH to make bread
    • calculate salary if I drop another day per fortnight and have every Wednesday off
    • take corset samples to a club tonight to drum up business
    • not an NSD as I'll need a big glass of wine to talk to potential customers as I'm actually quite shy :o
    • sparkle lots :j
Have a good day folks - I intend to! :D

    Good Morning All,

Thanks for starting the thread again Pixie – good news on CSA
    LaE – I agree….I buy a month’s worth of porridge oats for about £1 from Mr T
Stitchy – hope tonight goes well….enjoy the large glass of wine!

Emergency day off today – my nice shiny new car broke down yesterday on the way home last night….have to wait til 10:30 to call the place I bought it from (as I only bought it 2 weeks ago) – find out what they are going to do about it, then call to get it picked up and take it to a garage – the guy thought it was the clutch will cost about £250 - £300…but I need to have a working car to get to work! (Hence the stressy headache of driving London bound on the M3 not too sure whether I can get the car into gear whenever I have to slow down/stop etc!)

So, not sleeping because of the car issue + stressy headache + frustration = VERY sarcastic Candy xxx

    Today I have/will:

    • Meals from stores
    • Checked bank – payday so moved cash, made payments etc
    • Need to sort out the MS accounts
    • Read papers online
    • Check lottery tickets – no winners!
    • Enter shed loads of comps online
    • Watch things on the sky box (instead of going out)
    • Check Quidco
    • Chill – had a headache for 3 days now (all stressy)
    • Make a honey and oat face mask for tonight
    • Call gym and cancel Zumba for tonight
    • Might phone up the creditors to make sure my figures agree with theirs (this might make me feel better)

Surely, my life has to improve! Kept on getting upset yesterday and cried on the phone to hubby that I hated my life, got upset when the police arrived to move my car (I was blocking the carriageway), was upset when hubby arrived to make sure that I was ok, and was angry when the breakdown people arrived (not at them of course, the guy was my Knight in shining armour).

Think that is about it, take care everyone
    Candy xxx
Debts at the start of my journey - about £23,000 lightbulb moment 01.03.2007 (1st payment to CCCS)..Debt Free Date 25.06.2013 Deposit savings £17,000/£30,000

    Hello gorgeous people

    Today I will:

Check online banking - Final o2 payment has gone so that's me fully done with them (although going on PAYG in a few months with them but that's ok!) So cancelled the DD
Set up a standing order to my mummy so she actually gets the money I owe her for the car she bought me last September  But yay for facing up to it - she may be my mother but I am in debt to her so should be paid accordingly!
Final day of second job for the week - wee!
watch eBay - have one bid on one DVD but better than nothing!! haha

Oh Candy that sounds horrid! poor you!!
Check you out Amara - cleaning the skirting boards - you sound like my BF!! (- that's his job :D)
Whatcha gonna wear Pippi for your interview?
    Rock_Cakes - what's a hump day?!
You'll be fine Stitchy! Good luck - hope you get lots of interest!
Yay Pixie on the CSA :D

Hello and much love to everyone and have a great day xxx
Life is too short not to love what you do.
